Air Leakage

Evergreen Technologies focuses on finding the areas of your home or business contributing to high utility bills. We do this by using specialized test equipment to change the air pressure in the building. This allows us to use an infrared camera to actually see where air is leaking into or out of the building. These leaks are a majore contributor to being uncomfortable and causing high utility bills.

Air Leakage testing uses the Minneapolis Blower Door System with a digital manometer. During testing, the fan depressurizes the house to -50 Pascal's. This puts a slight negative pressure inside the building shell and exposes the areas where air leaks into the building. We detect this air infiltration using a Flir B60 infrared camera. Infrared imaging allows us to "see" where air is infiltrating a building structure. By detecting these areas we can then recommend corrective courses of action. Our reports show you both the infrared images and a standard digital photo to allow for easier identification of the affected area.

The Minneapolis Blower Door (shown to the right) fits neatly into any standard doorway providing for ease of use in testing.
